Envelope Doodles
Recently, I decided to add a few spot illustrations to the envelopes that I use to send out my children's book manuscript as well as for the envelopes that I use to send out my illustration portfolios. Many art directors see hundreds of envelopes a day and I thought that this might be a fun way to say "Hello!" without them having to open up the envelope. :)

Hello everyone! SCBWI has just re-designed their website. In order to further celebrate this change, local artists from the different regions have been invited to participate in a logo re-design contest. I just finished my entry and wanted to share.

Sleeping Beauty
Finished at last! Sleeping Beauty has been a 7 month project this year. The final print is 12 colors and contains more detail than I have ever achieved before now in the woodblock printing process. I am so excited to finally share these months of work.

I am very happy to announce that two of my pieces are being featured in the December issue of Episodic Magazine. These two pieces were submitted and accepted for the "Nighttime" theme.
Please check out the magazine to see more (click here). Many other talented artists submitted their work! I also want to thank Moses Domingo for introducing me to Episodic Magazine to begin with.

Christmas Card Design
This card was designed for a company called Eureka Tools as part of a contest. Even though my card was not selected, I wanted to share because it was a lot of fun for me to experiment with design, shape, and texture.

Believe
Just in time for Halloween! I carved and printed these signs and then hand painted in the yellow and purple when the outlines dried. It has been good practice learning how to carve letters backwards.

Strawberry Wine Label
I just completed this painting for a client in Pennsylvania this week! He makes strawberry wine and needed an image to put on the label. This job was so much fun and the client was really awesome to work with!!
Note - Print Exchange
This print was completed for a print exchange. I was one of 24 people to complete this project and send it to the East Coast. When the project is complete, 24 portfolios will be assembled and sent back to all of us. Then we will each have one of each other's prints! I can't wait to get mine in the mail! The word of the year this year was "Note" :)

Chalk Art Dabbles
I am branching out again and trying something new! I found out that they sell large pieces of chalkboard material at Home Depot and I could not resist buying a few to try my hand at chalk pastels. Recently, I signed up for the Luna Park Chalk Art Festival (which takes place this coming Saturday from 10-5) so I figured that now was a great time to try out this new medium.
