Dominica Is Done!

Merry Christmas everyone!! I am so excited to finish this piece. I feel like it was a great challenge to help expand my printmaking skills. This is the first large-scale piece that I could use my new woodblock on. It worked beautifully.

Process II

As the piece progresses we can see more and more of the character emerging. It is so exciting for me when this happens. :)

As the piece progresses we can see more and more of the character emerging. It is so exciting for me when this happens. :)

Process

This is the first time that I have documented the process I go through to create a woodblock print. Innogen is my current project. It starts with a plain ole block of wood that I draw on. Then I carve away the pieces I want to keep white (the color of the paper) and print the first color. This continues until I complete the print! Stay tuned for the rest!

First Glance

This is the first piece I have carved on basswood. It is very similar to white pine.....except better! I am impressed.
